The alkaStream Soft water filter is designed for water supplies including rain-tank water and non-fluoridated water supplies. It contains the same media as the hard water filter but less ion exchnage resin, which reduces fluoride. In our laboratory tests we found the soft water filter removed more than 80% of fluoride from a sample fluoridated water supply. Both filters lifespan is six months.
